Aloha, Mele Kalikimaka, and Hauʻoli Makahiki Hoʻu! I'm sorry I worried some folks by going AWOL on my blogging. It's been a busy month since I last wrote. Maybe I'm not a bad dog. Can we go for procrastinating dog? Dog that took care of a sick mom instead of blogging? Well, you'll see two photos when I'm bad and the rest I'm just a really good puppy.
My family and I were busy with Christmas band concerts and preparing the house for my grandparents and dad to arrive. My grandparents came for Christmas and Dad in January. Photos are easier for me so here goes a whole months worth of Yours Truly.
Looking cute and innocent while waiting for Santa to come in ten days. |
Post playtime nap. |
I'm relatively scrawny compared to my chubby sister. |
Shortly after we brought Nana and Poppa home, Dad came onto Skype. This is the only way I knew my dad for the first few months here. |
Skyping is over-rated. The biggest payoff comes from sucking up to Nana. As she says to all her grandkids, "You've got to learn how your bread is buttered." Not sure what it means, but I like bread. |
Pushing off of Mom to scoot closer to Nana. |
Didn't take me too long to make her mine. |
I love you Nana. |
Sealed with a kiss. Not sure she enjoyed it. |
Destruction of the goose from Frank and Amy. |
Grrr... grrrr... |
Note innards. Same fate as the monkey. |
I love to sit on Maddy's lap in this chair. Luckily I haven't grown since I was two weeks old or I wouldn't fit. |
Mom is sick so I'm taking care of her while Isabella sucks up to the Nana while we watch TV. |
Mom's so sick, not even my cute face can make her smile. She must be near death. |
A wiggly rub gets her smiling. |
Even bronchitis can be conquered by a cute, fuzzy face. |
I practice my cute face frequently. Never know when I'll need to use it. I use it to get food, apologize, or ask to get on the couch or a bed. |
Mom spent a day or two on the couch in PJs with bronchitis. Isabella and I added to the couch pillow collection. |
Helping Mom shop for Maddy's birthday. |
Mom takes a break to give me a tummy rub. |
CHRISTMAS MORNING!!! I must have been good because I see something sticking out of my stocking, despite the ominous omens when I found it on the floor. |
Sheesh... church before stockings??? Are you kidding, people? |
Sitting by Poppa as he waits for everyone else to get ready for church. |
Licking my chops as I wait for someone with opposable thumbs to reach my stocking. |
Stuffy-less stuffy fox with a plastic bottle inside. My favorite! |
Got my prey. Off to my den. |
The end of a day of gifts and killing stuffies (mine and Isabella's). Tiring. |
A few days after Christmas. Madeline loves it when I sit like this - with my tail sticking straight out behind me. |
Purple duck by the knife block. A forewarning of things to come. |
Purple squeaky duck realizes whats in store and screams in horror. |
He had good reason to scream. Isabella and I played tug-of-war for ages until he, along with his squeaker, died. |
No squeaks meant Isabella was less interested in purple duck so I got him. |
I like to carry him by a leg or wing until I chewed them off. |
End of the day was the end of purple duck. |
Me smiling at my accomplishment. |
What's that? |
Purple duck's yellow arm makes great chewing gum. |
Mom found the goose and wanted to show off its corpse. |
Bad dog. Maddy found me on the couch, uninvited. oooops. |
Maybe the cute face with convince her to let me stay up here. |
Nope. I'm cuddling the toilet instead. |
I enjoy it here. |
My family thinks my smile indicates I'm dreaming of steaks. |
A different perspective. |
How would you like this view as you enter our guest bathroom? It's unique. |
Cuddling with my sister. |
Nice nap time is over. Time to let her know it's playtime with a bite to the neck. Very effective. |
A month after the other photo. People say I've grown. However, I still fit in this chair with Madeline like any good lap dog would. |
Despite appearances, this is super comfy. |
My family says my ears tell when I have ants in my borzoi pants. Or it's the sign of Lucifur. I wonder who he is? They must be confusing me with my brother, Kolchak XV. |
Are you done with my... err... um... our bone yet? |
Another tail photo. My family loves it because it was my ticket to their hearts. Me too. |
Mikah came to visit again. We're checking each other out through a ladder. |
My sister and me at Pokai Bay. (And see how tall I am!) |
To keep things interesting, I'm not showing me pacing the sand and checking out the waves. They intimidated me at first, but I conquered that fear. After these clips were shot, I learned to time my entrance according to the white stuff. I'm more brilliant by the day.
The first of our Wolfhounds from 2-27 arrived home last night. I haven't met them yet. The rest will trickle in for the next two to three months... ish.
Dad will be here for another week so I may not blog until he leaves. Gotta hang out with him while I can. Plus, he'll take his fuzzy Ugg slippers with him and I need to take every opportunity to nibble them before they disappear.
That's it. A whole month in one blog entry. Again, I'm sorry if I worried anyone with my disappearance from the blogosphere.
Much aloha in 2012!
Kolchak XVI
